GRADUAL ENTRANCE

In order to allow for an easier transition into the kindergarten program, the children will follow a gradual entrance schedule when their school year begins in September.  Specific dates for gradual entrance will be mailed to enrolled students in August.

Parent Orientation

This is an evening meeting for all parents of  kindergarten students.  One parent from each family should attend to learn about the structure for kindergarten. Important information and paperwork will be given out at this meeting. Children need not be present.  The meeting will last approximately 90 minutes.

Student Gradual Entrance

On Wednesday, Thursday, OR Friday of the first week of school the children will attend a small group session with a parent from 8:30-10:30.  Please check your letter to find out which day your child attends.

Please bring your child’s labeled supplies to the small group session.

SUPPLY LIST

Remember to label all pencils, crayons, and scissors. Report to your child's classroom on your assigned day.  Full-day students should bring a small snack in their lunch box to small group orientation so that we can practice lunch procedures. No drinks are needed. Half day students do not need a snack on orientation day.

When coming to school for gradual entrance please enter the school by Manns Avenue (the north end of the building) and bring your child directly to the  classroom for the small group session.  You may park on the Saint Ursula School lot (after 8:10 a.m.).

On the Monday after the week of gradual entrance, kindergarten children will begin the regular school sessions.  You will be notified at orientation about arrival and dismissal procedures.
