Digital storytelling is an effective way to engage students in their
learning and can be used in the classroom in a myriad of
ways. Telling personal stories helps students learn about voice in a
narrative form, as well as first person perspective. Students can
retell an event from the life of a famous person they are studying
to help us understand why this person acted the way they did, or
share the story of a drop of water as it progresses through the
water cycle or path through a watershed. This digital storytelling
course will explore the techniques of digital storytelling, how to
connect the digital storytelling process to the curriculum,
effective project design and implementation, as well as the
technical process of building and distributing digital stories. You
will receive free copies of the software you will need.
