Get the Power: Using PowerPoint In Your Classroom
Presenter:
Lisa Giacco, Grade One, St. John Regional Catholic School
Description: Learn basic PowerPoint skills to create a
PowerPoint Presentation for classroom use. Create a simple
PowerPoint, adding clip art/photos to a presentation, create simple
animation, and add links to videos and/or websites. Hands on
learning. Bring a thumb drive to save your work and plenty of ideas
to share and create.
Lexile: What is it and how can I use it?
Presenter:
Mary Carroll,
Description: In this session, teachers will learn what a
Lexile score represents, how it is computed, and where they can find
it. Teachers will work in the computer lab to tour the website,
access the many tools available to them and learn how to best use a
Lexile in their classroom. A list of ideas will be generated and
shared including ideas on how to generate a summer reading list
using the website and scores.
Morning
hospitality will be provided and starts at 8:30. Lunch will be
available to all participants

Description: Participants will receive the Algebra I
Standards and Benchmarks in final draft form, be given opportunities
to become familiar with the content and discuss the timeline for
implementation.
