Welcome Parents!

The book fair will be held starting September 7th.  It will end on September 13th. Once that is over, we will begin our library/ media curriculum. The children will learn a variety of skills including listening skills, research and reference skills and media literacy skills. Most of the student's work is done during class time, but occasionally I will need to assign homework. If this is the case the children will be informed during class and the assignment will be posted on this website.

Please encourage your child to return books on time. You will find a schedule of when the classes are in the library on this web site. There is a $.05 cent a day fine for overdue materials. This applies to school days only. I do not send out overdue notices until a child's total fines reach $1.00. It would be impossible to print out and keep up with every 5 or ten cent fine. If your child receives an overdue notice, please check to see if the book is returned. There is a reference on the notice for books that have not been returned. This will be the information at the top of the page. Then fines owed for books returned late will appear. If the book has not been returned, please return the book along with the fines or fines will continue to accumulate.

During the second  trimester grades 4-8 will begin the Media Literacy curriculum. I would encourage you to discuss what they are doing in class because input from home is an important component of this curriculum. More information will follow at the time we begin Media Literacy.

I look forward to working with your children and hope that the school year will run smoothly. If you have any questions you can contact me at the school by phone or e mail. Above all please encourage your children to read, read, read.
