Physical Science Terms

 

Sorting: putting objects into groups based on their properties, examples of properties are color, shape, and size.

 

Matter is anything that takes up space and weight.

 

States of Matter are

·       Solid

·       Liquid

·       Gas

 

A solid has a size and shape of its own.

 

A liquid take the shape of its container.

 

A gas can change shape and size.  When you fill a balloon with gas, the gas takes the shape and size of the balloon.  You know that air is all around you.  Air is made of gasses you cannot see.
