Dear 2nd grade parents,

October was a busy month.  We have been studying long vowels, digraphs, diphthongs, math facts to 20, two digit subtraction with and without regrouping/borrowing, singular and plural nouns, the Act of Contrition, the Our Father, Reconciliation, mortal and venial sins and how expressing sorrow for hurting others shows our love for God and others.  We are learning new spelling words and we made a little book of our spelling words.  We have been reading stories about getting along with others.  We read about working together to make lemonade, writing letters to friends and the importance of being welcoming and open to new friendships.  2C has also been writing about our field trip to the Strasburg Railroad and an event with a special person.  We had a great time making our masks and hand sculptures.  They can be painted at home and covered with a clear coat of lacquer.  Here are some of the events in November:

November 19 Recycle Day
November 21 11: 50am dismissal, Conferences
November 24 Grandparents Day
November 26-28 Thanksgiving Break!
