The St. Ursula Physical Education curriculum is based on the National Standards. The emphasis is placed on fitness and health. A variety of sports units are offered throughout the year. All students in grades 1 through 8 participate in fitness testing two times during the school year, both in the fall and in the spring. Kindergarten works on gross motor skills, basic locomotor skills, spatial awareness and movement activities. All students learn basic anatomy with the help of Mr. Bones. Classes grades 4 through 8 use heart rate monitors and learn the relationship between exercise and heart health. |
