I am the 7th and 8th grade science teacher at St. Ursula School. This is my 18th year teaching here.  My first 4 years I taught 6th grade English and Science.  Sister finally promoted me to a 7th grade homeroom and eventually I was assigned to teach all science classes.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in the biological sciences from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a Master in Education with a major in Instruction and Curriculum from Loyola College.  I attended Essex Community College and Towson University where additional undergraduate courses were taken and presently hold an advanced professional certificate from the State of Maryland Department of Education.  To enhance my knowledge of science and technology, I continue to take courses during summer vacations.  After having taken a 4 hour exam in 1976, I became certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists with a specialty in microbiology and have worked in a hospital laboratory for over 20 years.  For 5 years I was employed full time at the University of Maryland Hospital in the Microbiology Lab.  I worked for 1 year at St. Joseph Hospital in their Microbiology Lab and then took a 5 year  break with the birth of my first son.  For the next 20 years I returned to St. Joe's on a part time basis in the same lab.  I also hold an advanced professional catechist certificate from the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

My affiliation with St. Ursula Church and School has been a lengthy one.  I became involved with the school when my oldest son entered first grade in 1983.  I was one of the organizers of the special lunch program when the need arose for the students to continue to have hot lunches periodically.  I am a Eucharistic minister for both parish and school.  I have raised three sons all of whom have graduated from St. Ursula School.  They have attended three different Catholic High  Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  I have a strong belief in catholic education and the values it instills in our children.
